Edna Wallace

Associate, Client Service/Marketing

I came to GlobeFlex with many years of experience on the communications side of the investment business. Even before graduating from UCSD, I was with a financial planning firm, where it really was all about client service. Then, from 1996 to 2003, my time was spent at a brand-name firm during a real growth period in our industry. In seven years I moved from marketing assistant to global account administrator -- with a final jump to international product specialist, the roles being sliced very fine, typical for a large organization.

At GlobeFlex, I will never be forced into a box. At a boutique firm, I am able to participate in the full range of data needs-that comprehensive view translates into consistency of message. This leaves me free to get better at what I love doing, without departments and layers. Bob and Marina keep it tight and inclusive. We don't have to expand arbitrarily, we have a long-term vision and we will remain true to our culture and the institutional investors who are our clients.

My role at GlobeFlex focuses on RFP's, questionnaires, maintaining databases, and creating client review presentations. Having all the information about the firm and our products gives me a perspective on what's going on so I can relate well to the outside world. By nature, I am extremely methodical, and this broad range of responsibility and involvement allows me to see the whole picture-avoiding the narrow thinking and informational hierarchies present at larger firms.

My position here is great - I team with Pam Farrell to plow through the work. While Pam takes the lead on client service requests, we collaborate on answers and data to ensure consistency and accuracy to all of our clients, consultants, and prospects. We share a dedication to incredible organization and total attention to detail. Our shared passion allows us to be really timely in response. As the direct link to the investment process, I can answer questions clearly, steer people to revealing evidence, and it gives me deep satisfaction.
